When you're swimming through endless tracts of ocean trying to find food, there's not much to laugh about, so sharks tend to be quite melancholic. No other fish wants to hang out with them - I mean, just look at those eyes; weird. And those teeth, no wonder they don't smile. So they tend to swim about alone looking for some relief from the boredom. They'll only laugh after a meal, which was unfortunate for two of our researchers who were trying to feed this Great White off a small holiday island in New England and get it to laugh with satisfaction. They got the laugh, but is was the last thing that they did. The supreme sacrifice. Click on the picture above to listen.
